SpiceJet and famous Indian chef Vikas Khanna have come together to offer limited-edition meal choices to the carrier's passengers for a noble cause. SpiceJet has announced that a part of the proceeds collected from the sale of these items will go to Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO that works in India towards empowering girls by educating them and enabling them to stand on their own feet. Debojo Maharshi, SpiceJet's Chief Business Officer, commented,

"SpiceJet is delighted to offer exclusive in-flight meals curated by globally renowned Indian chef, Vikas Khanna for its discerning passengers. SpiceJet is known for its hot and delicious meals since 2007 and this collaboration with Vikas Khanna would take our in-flight menu to the next level.

"A significant part of the proceeds collected from the sale of these exclusive meals will go towards a very noble cause – empowering and educating girls – and we are extremely happy to be an integral part of this initiative."

According to the airline's website, the limited-edition menu offers a choice of four dishes – two rice-based and two wraps. Vegetarian options among the four dishes include a Vegetable Biryani and a Paneer Bhurji Roll (a wrap made from cottage cheese).

Meat eaters have the option to choose from Chicken Aloo Bukhara Biryani and a Chicken Khurchan Roll. The dishes have been curated by Vikas Khanna himself and are available on pre-booking. Khanna (who has award-winning restaurants in New York and Dubai) commented,

"I am excited about the collaboration with SpiceJet as food will help us connect with a larger cause that I am personally committed to, and is centered around celebrating and creating an enabling environment for the girl child. SpiceJet is known for specially curated experiences and exciting collaboration and I believe the impact of this initiative will be incredible."

To celebrate the collaboration, SpiceJet also launched a special livery on one of its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). The aircraft featured the dishes curated by Khanna as well as the image of the film based on his book "Imaginary Rain."

This isn't the first time that SpiceJet has painted its plane in a special livery. The airline often collaborates with famous personalities for the promotion of their work or even to mark significant achievements or milestones in general. It once featured the image of Indian actor Sonu Sood who was praised for his efforts in helping people out during the height of the COVID pandemic in India.
